MESSAGE FROM THE E.G.A. PRESIDENT

It is a great honour for me to welcome the competitors, officials and supporters to the International European Mid-Amateur Championship 2009.
On behalf of the European Golf Association, I would like to express my sincere thanks to the Royal Spanish Golf Federation for agreeing to host this event and to the members of the Rio Real Golf Club for allowing us the exclusive use of their fine golf course.
This event is an important one. It brings together many of the most talented golfers in Europe and I am sure that we shall witness some excellent golf throughout the week.
In the hope that all participants have much pleasure in competing, I wish them all the best of luck and may the best player win!

On behalf of the Royal Spanish Golf Federation I welcome you all to Marbella and particularly to Rio Real Golf Club, a Javier Arana design, where I hope you have a nice stay and wonderful hospitality.
This event is a very special gathering for the players that have opted for continuing in the amateur path and have very likely met before competing at the highest level.
I hope you enjoy the week, make new friends and come back home with happy memories, because this is what amateur golf is about.

MESSAGE FROM THE RIO REAL GOLF CLUB PRESIDENT

On behalf of the Río Real Golf Club and the organizing Committee, I am happy to welcome the players and the officials to the 2009 edition of the International European Mid-Amateur Championship.
This golf course, since its inauguration in 1965, is considered one of the best golf courses on the Costa del Sol. From the beginning we have hosted some important national tournaments such as: Spanish Mid Amateur Championship, Spanish Professional Double Championship, etc…
I thank you all for your participation and wish you a memorable stay at Río Real Golf, in Marbella and on the Costa del Sol.
